Have you tried our zinc oxide Summer Skin Protectant?? If you haven't, you definitely should! We spent quite a few days at the beach while we were on the East Coast, and as long as I remembered to put some on- I didn't get burnt! Now that the weather is heating up at home, I'm using it every day and love it. With 20% zinc oxide, it offers about SPF 20. My daughter and I are fair skinned and it works great for us both. You have to be sure to reapply, but that goes with any sunscreen.
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
Hi everyone! Just a very quick update to let you know that we are back home from the East Coast and orders will be shipped out within a day or so of being placed. All of our Summer skin protectants (made with 20% zinc oxide) are in stock, as well as our awesome Dont Bug Me insect repellant. Of course, Elderberry Boost, hand salves and candles are in stock too.
Hope your summer season is off to a great start :)
We will be on vacation from June 6-15
Orders placed by June 3rd will be shipped by June 4th.
All orders after June 3rd will be shipped by June 17th.
Our family is heading back to the East Coast for a long over due visit! I am so excited to see everyone at home :) If you are needing Elderberry boost or any other products, please place your order right away so that I can get it in the mail before we leave.
So excited to announce our new product that will soon be available to purchase thru our online shop!
Goat milk soap!
If you follow Abiqua Naturals on Instagram or FB, you may know that our family has gotten back in to having a little hobby farm. Being around animals is something that we truly love (well Reece and I for sure, James... he puts up with our shenanigans ;) ) Having fresh eggs, growing food, raising meat and even having dairy goats are all a part of what we are creating here!
We have 2 Nigerian Dwarf does named Nutmeg & Ginger. The milk from this breed of goat is amazing, its creamy, delicious and has a high fat content. It is perfect for soap making! This first successful batch is made with Shea butter, coconut oil, avocado oil and goat milk. It is unscented. While supplies last, every order placed will receive a free sample bar to try out!! A new batch will be made today and available in about 3-4 weeks after it cures.
The plan is to offer a few scent options like lavender, cedar and citrus. We will never ever use any fragrance oils in our soaps, scents will come from naturally infused oil or essential oils only.
We hope you will love this new soap as much as we do. It creates a rich lather, nice smooth feel not at all sticky, rinses off easily and leaves your skin soft!! So far I've used it for hands, body wash and dishes.
Happy Friday to all you Elderberry Boost lovers!

Hey Elderberry Boost lovers!
Some of you may have already seen this update on our social media pages, but if not, please take a minute to read this.
As you probably know, we moved to Montana this summer and that has meant getting re licensed in our new state. Every state is different in so many ways, and one thing that we discovered is that Montana does not allow the use of echinacea and stinging nettles. For now we have had to remove those ingredients from our Elderberry Boost. Moving forward it is our goal to get back to the original formula, this will take some time. Even though those two ingredients are no longer in our recipe, our Elderberry Boost is still absolutely amazing, so don't worry!! Our berries and all ingredients (except the honey) are certified organic and always the highest quality available. Elderberry Boost is still wonderful and has the benefits it always has :)
If you have any questions please feel free to contact us through the website or call/ text 503-989-0532.
Thank you so much for continuing to support our small business!

Well, I'm a little late on this update. Probably should have done this Before life turned into total chaos, but better late than never!
Two weeks ago my family and I, plus Abiqua Naturals of course, moved to beautiful Montana. Oregon was an amazing place to live for the last 13 years, but we had talked about Montana for years and finally everything lined up beautifully. So we sold our home in Bend Oregon and headed for the Bitterroot Valley in Western Montana.
I had expected a little delay on getting my business back up and running, only it turned into more of a delay than I had thought. We bought a fixer upper on a lovely piece of property, but it requires more fixing than we planned! Shipping out orders will be a little slower than normal due to this. I have product ready to ship and have finally been able to get my office area sort of set up, but not 100%. My plan is to ship on Fridays only. This will allow me to focus my energy on our home and only spend one day a week in my office, and that is what I really need right now. If you need an order right away please call me 503-989-0532 between 8am-2pm Mountain time, and I will get it out that same day.
Bend customers~ as of now, I am not offering free delivery in the Bend area. This is may become available again in the future if I have someone in the area that can distribute and deliver for me.
Silverton customers~ you can still use the free shipping discount and my lovely in laws will be taking care of Silverton deliveries for me. This discount applies to orders of $54 or more (basically a 3 pack of Elderberry Boost is the minimum). Discount code SILVERTON at check out.
Thank you all for your continued support and understanding. If it weren't for all of you Elderberry Boost lovers, I wouldn't get to do what I love and call it a job :)
Enjoy your summer and don't forget that Elderberry Boost can help with allergies too!
Summer products are here! It took me a bit longer than I hoped to have everything made, labeled and available for sale. But, hey- better late than never right?!
Working on getting everything posted under Shop Now. Please note that the price there will include shipping!!!

Hey Elderberry Boost fans! Some of you may know that Etsy has made some changes recently regarding their advertising and associated fees they take from Sellers. As a small business I loved having Etsy as a simple, well known platform for selling Elderberry Boost, unfortunately the new changes are not awesome for many small businesses. To be completely honest, with the fees they take now it is barely worth it to even sell my Boost on there. I have decided to close down my Etsy shop soon. My website offers the same purchasing options at the same prices. The only thing you will notice is that the shipping cost is already built in, thats just because of the basic platform that I am using for now, but I promise that the costs are the same. As always, thank you for your continued support <3
You may have heard or read some of the claims that you should not use elderberries during this time. Well I just wanted to share some really great posts, research and info that I have found. As always I am not a doctor and this is absolutely not medical advice in any way. Please be sure to read through these sites and links for yourself and if you need any help discerning it, I'm sure your doctor would be glad to help. Personally, I have had doctors and naturopaths recommend to continue using Elderberry Boost as part of a regimen to maintain a strong immune system during this time. One doctor did say that if you do test positive for Covid-19 then you should stop and at that point you will be given a protocol to follow anyways.
** Please remember that just because something goes viral and is shared over and over and over, that does NOT make it true. **
Herbs are not a one size fits all, and that includes elderberry syrup. There are some who in general probably should not take it, and this current situation may or may not be different for those individuals. Our family has been instructed that it is safe to continue use of Elderberry Boost. We trust our doctors and if our situation changes then we will contact them again to see what is best to use or not use. Do what you and your health care provider determine is best, but please try not to spread false information that has no true proof behind it for this situation.
"The Bottom Line
Elderberry is not likely to be able to cause CRS to happen by itself, and there have been no causative links of Elderberry or any herbs associated with CRS. CRS is caused by a severe amount of damage to the tissues and activated immune cells in later stages of infection, and therefore should be managed by medical professionals. Cytokine storms are rare in human physiology, and consequently we do not have a history of managing them with Elderberry. "
This article and short and to the point, I found it very easy to understand. There are also multiple links at the end to the sources they used.
"In short, we have absolutely no evidence that elderberry – or any herb for that matter – causes or promotes cytokine storms.
Basically, the information you see circulating right now is oversimplified and often flat out wrong.
If we don’t have any evidence that elderberry causes cytokine storms, then what is the basis for all these claims?
In 2001, a study performed on healthy volunteers found that elderberry (in the product Sambucol) increased beneficial cytokines. The conclusion of that study was: “Sambucol might therefore be beneficial to the immune system activation and in the inflammatory process in healthy individuals or in patients with various diseases.”1
I can’t count the times I have now seen that study referenced or linked with someone claiming that it’s proof that elderberry side effects cause cytokine storms. Again, that is absolutely not true. The study did not conclude anything regarding elderberry side effects and cytokine storms.
This is part of the article from Registered Herbalist Rosalee De La Foret.
3) Here is the link to one of the articles being shared virally on Facebook claiming it is dangerous to use elderberry syrup right now:
Please click the link on the top of that post to view her update which states:
The message I communicated imprecisely was"if you are in a "high risk" groupand contract COVID-19, this automatically puts you at risk of autoimmune lung and heart damage, and taking elderberry has the genuine potential to make that worse."
However, there is probably not any increased risk to healthy children or adults using elderberry preventatively. Keep using it as immune support. Keep using it for flu. Stop if you suspect COVID-19.
There are many many sites and articles to read about this topic. Please read thoroughly and widely in order to have a more clear understanding overall. Once again, this is absolutely not medical advice and I am not claiming the elderberry syrup or Elderberry Boost will have any specific outcome. Simply putting together some things that I found useful in my research, and yes there are definitely some situations where I feel it is very clear and true that elderberry syrup is not the right choice. The over simplified version of that did seem to be incorrect in my personal opinion which is what led me to do my own research and share a few things here.
Stay safe, stay well and take care of yourself !
